Artists out there – do we have your attention? It’s time to put your creative hats on and get to work!

Global payments giant, Visa, has rolled out a one-year immersive program to help all artists dive deeper into the commercial side of NFTs. Painters, gig workers, entrepreneurs, and all creators looking to make some bucks can sign up for this NFT program. The application process for this Visa Creator Program started yesterday.

The program is open across different geographies in the world and starts with a selection process. The lucky ones will be provided with technical mentorship and a chance to connect with Visa’s clients and the larger creator community to exchange ideas. One-time funding in the form of a stipend will also be provided to creators to expand their business.

What’s in it for Visa?

As per a spokesperson of the company, Visa won’t receive any direct financial incentive. Through this program, Visa can learn how it can use NFT commerce to help its clients navigate the emerging technology.

NFTs or non-fungible tokens have been around for a while as a unique digital asset designed to represent ownership of a virtual item. Minting NFTs by selling their work on NFT marketplaces isn’t something new for actors, musicians, and artists in India. However, a big push was much needed to catalyse this, and here comes Visa to the rescue.

Interestingly, Visa jumped into the NFT craze after it bought CryptoPunk for $150,000 in Ethereum last year.

Too long? Here’s a one-liner: Visa launches program to help creators navigate NFTs, plans to onboard small entrepreneurs to help expand their business and offers stipend.
